Microsoft admits Android is the best operating system for mobile devices

Panos Panay, the product manager of Microsoft Devices, spoke at the London flagship store, admitting that the company will be using Android on its Surface Duo phone because it is the best operating system for its type of product. Google’s Android is one of Microsoft’s biggest rivals in the industry, with Microsoft trying to overtake Android’s business with its Microsoft Windows Mobile.
While this phone no longer exists, it would have been easy to update the operating system and use it for the Surface Duo. However, Microsoft has gone for the most popular Android system and is honest in its choice. They admitted that it was difficult to compete with Android because it is one of the most widely used operating systems in the world, a Windows operating system that once owned exclusively. The crashed Windows 10 phone was a humbling experience they didn’t want to relive. Panay explained that the movement had come to meet clients where they already were.
The dual-screen laptop called Surface Neo, however, uses the Windows operating system which Microsoft says is best for this product.
An evolving future
Over the next few years, Microsoft intends to make all of its products usable. According to Microsoft, the Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop 3 will be easily upgraded and repaired. For example, the removable SSD can be replaced easily.
Microsoft has been criticized for not making devices that can be opened, making them impractical and expensive. Customers and third parties will now be able to replace and repair Microsoft components.
The Surface Pro and all-in-one tabs of the future will benefit greatly from the ease of maintenance of the products. This will help them become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint.
They also reduce the cost of shipping and receiving your product when it needs repair, saving hundreds of dollars in the long run.
