TD Ameritrade improves thinkorswim® as first mobile year draws to a close
OMAHA, Neb .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – TD Ameritrade is making improvements to itsI the thinkorswim suite of trading products to deliver an even more personal and mobile-friendly experience. Aided by a host of new features and improvements to its user interfaces, these upgrades come as the company prepares to end a year where mobile trading first overtook trading on desktop devices.
Mobile-first trading is far from the only significant change of the year in the engagement of retail traders in the markets. In 2021, markets saw a flood of new entrants and unique trends – not to mention the continued influence of the Covid-19 pandemic – that have had a significant impact on the retail landscape.
“Among the many things that made 2021 unique from a business standpoint is the fact that we have reached the first mobile tipping point,” said JJ Kinahan, chief market strategist, TD Ameritrade. “We’ve always focused on our mobile capabilities, iterating and improving our offerings to deliver the complete yet intuitive experience our merchant customers expect, no matter what device they use. This year in particular, with so many newbie traders entering the markets for the first time, it has also been essential to incorporate enhanced education on strategies that can help them achieve their goals.
“Looking ahead to the new year and as our integration with Charles Schwab progresses, we will continue to invest in the momentum of thinkorswim platforms,” Kinahan added. “We remain fully committed to providing a best-in-class trading experience, now and in the future. ”
Highlights of recent thinkorswim improvements include:
- thinkorswim office has acquired over 20 new graphics strategies, studies and drawing tools in addition to a personalized news interface, news keyword search and social activity watchlist.
- thinkorswim mobile is more customizable than ever, with an overview of the New Trader account, redesigned core tools for easier integration, interactive in-app help, a new chat interface and support for the Apple® M1 ™ chip .
- thinkorswim Web Now features a dedicated charts tab, eight new chart studies plus five new drawing tools, dozens of new predefined watchlists, contingent orders, order rules and trailing stops, transaction history and an educational experience personalized.

Traders can conquer the market with confidence knowing that they will have uninterrupted access to the award-winning thinkorswim product suite, as well as the innovation, training and service they expect.
